THE WATER DIVINER (2014)

#36 is 2014's The Water Diviner starring (and directed by) Russell Crowe. The title is a bad choice as this is really the story of an Australian farmer (Crowe) traveling back to Gallipoli four years after his 3 sons were killed as well as many other Australians and New Zealanders in that infamous WW1 battle. He wants to find them and bring their bodies home. He encounters resistance from the Brits in charge but he presses on, forging an unlikely friendship from one of the Turkish officers who are working to bury and identify the dead. It turns out Crowe can pretty much sense where his kids were killed, much like he can sense where water is (hence the title). It's a pretty good movie - there is a whole romantic subplot of all things that is a little out of place, and I can't fault the entertainment value of this movie. But there are several jarring flashbacks to wartime that present the antiwar statement desired but makes for some awful transitions. It's worth a look.
