THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

We're behind on the writeups so let's do a couple more: Timecrimes (2007) is this really neat time travel movie from Argentina (with subtitles) that just keeps on surprising and surprising you as it goes on. Hector (Karra Elejalde) is sitting in his yard when he sees some stirring in the woods nearby. When he pulls out his binoculars he sees a beautiful woman who is taking off her top. Pretty soon she's naked and somehow has fallen unconscious. Hector goes into the woods t...o investigate - where he is stabbed in the arm by a man wearing a pink bandage around his face. And this is where this story starts kicking into full gear as he runs from this stranger and finds an odd research area populated by one man, a scientist (the film's director Nacho Vigalondo). It's the weekend and he's the only one there. He's got a hiding place all set for him. A very odd hiding place that sends Hector back one hour in time. This time loop gets crazier and crazier until - well, this needs to be seen. We loved it! Don't want to say much more - let this unfold as you watch and you'll get a kick out of it. #147 of 2016 and recommended.

TLA one-word review: intriguing
