THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR (1975)

Three Days of the Condor (1975) is #111 of 2016 and it's always been a favorite. Robert Redford is an analyst for the CIA working in NY where he reads novels and other things and looks for patterns hiding codes and other secret information. One day a pattern he inquires about to his station chief brings a visit by hitmen who wipe out his whole office except him (Redford was out getting lunch). Then he tries to get himself brought in. But it seems the CIA itself is out to kill him! Just a great paranoid thriller where no one can be trusted. Redford is great as he figures the whole thing out, as is Max von Sydow as a contract killer hired by - who? Can't say. Great music by Dave Grusin and marvelous direction by the great Sydney Pollack. You should see this if you haven't.
