THE THAW (2009)

Yes we prattle on...#118 is 2009's The Thaw. Val Kilmer is a scientist doing research up in Alaska where he discovers a frozen wooly mammoth, pretty much intact. Problem is - so are a whole slew of beetle-sized parasites, each about the size of a chocolate eclair and nowhere near as tasty! These things eat into your skin and do very bad things and - dare I say it - could end the human race!!! And what's worse is that his DAUGHTER and a bunch of college interns are on their way to the base! This film delivers the goods, is quite icky and actually is based on a real scenario poised by global warming experts (did Al Gore help write the screenplay)? One viewing is enough for me.

SHOULD TLA WATCH THIS? Oh come on - I used the word "icky," didn't I?
