THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

#5 and #76 is the extremely wacko Street Asylum (1990). The always interesting Wings Hauser stars as a cop who is assigned by his chief (Alex Cord) to a new squad. These guys are extremely focused for a very good reason: the department's been having mind control devices put in their backs. Which leads to some rather erratic behavior by L.A.'s finest - you don't wanna be an innocent bystander around the "street squad" unless your will is all set! Extremely off the wall action in this one, topped off with G. Gordon Liddy (!) as a mayoral candidate who has a thing for dominatrixes and who's behind the whole mind control thing. Extremely silly and hilarious (unintentionally) at times.

TLA one-word review: tepid
