SHADOWS IN AN EMPTY ROOM (1976)

#52 is the movie known by many names, 1976's Sha...dows in an Empty Room (i was more amused by the alternate title Blazing Magnums). It's an Italian-Canadian co-production shot in Montreal with an Italian crew. Stuart Whitman is an Ottawa police captain who comes to Montreal to investigate his sister's death. His methods become more brutal as he finds out more about his sister's killer - and his sister! This has a great car chase, a decent plot and Martin Landau & John Saxon in supporting parts. Saxon has little to do here, but in #53, La Legge Violenta Della Squadra Anticrimine (aka Cross Shot in the USA) (1976), Saxon is a Dirty Harry-type cop chasing a killer who is being pursued by both the cops and Lee J. Cobb's mafia. A little dull for an Italian crime flick and Cobb looks shaky and weak in his last film.

TLA one-word reviews: trippy/unmemorable/meh
