THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

SANDCASTLES (1972) & BANK SHOT (1974)

Oh boy even MORE obscure movies to help build up that movie countdown! #121 is a fun, goofy caper comedy from '74 called Bank Shot. George C. Scott is the "mastermind" amongst a bunch of cartoon characters as they resolve to steal a mobile bank and then they'll have all kinds of time to work on the safe where the $$$ is! Lots of familiar faces here. #122 is a REALLY obscure 1972 TV- movie called Sandcastles. When I was a wee lad I thought this was a pretty cool movie. W...atching this now it is not nearly so cool. Jan-Michael Vincent (who looks about 16 here) gets killed in a car crash before he can give his friend Hershel Bernardi the money he needs to save his beloved restaurant. So JMV comes back as a ghost, but can't leave a nearby beach, falls in love with pretty Bonnie Bedelia (the only one who can see him) & he's gotta find a way to lead her to the lost cash so he can get some eternal rest. Points for nostalgia but not for coherence. Darn. Did I mention how pretty Bonnie Bedelia is?

TLA one-word review (Bank Shot): unexpected

TLA one-word review (Sandcastles): trippy
