THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

REASONABLE DOUBT (2014)

More movie catchup: #23 is 2014's Reasonable Doubt, which stars Dominic Cooper as an up-and-coming ass't DA who hits someone with his car after a few drinks and flees the scene. The next day, Samuel L. Jackson is arrested with the guy in his van and accused of killing him. Cooper knows what really happened and prosecutes the case and gets Jackson off. But Jackson isn't as innocent as he seems. There's a decent plot lurking in here but it's obscured by a lot of idiocy and contrivances that take you right out of things. Cooper is a snore but Jackson plays the bad guy like nobody's business. No matter - this is only a time waster on an airplane when you are out of movies on your iPad. Get my drift?

THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)
