CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

PULP (1972)

#192 is a Michael Caine movie probably no one has heard of - Pulp. Caine is Mickey King, a writer of sexually charged, trashy detective novels (like "My Gun is Long") who is happy doing what he does. Famous actor Preston Gilbert (Mickey Rooney) hires him to ghostwrite his autobiography - but then Rooney is murdered at a party. King decides to take all of his knowledge of detective work and investigate for himself who killed Gilbert. Pulp is an odd little thing, mixing laughs and mystery. I found it amusing and different but this is more of a cult film than anything mainstream.
