CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

#17 of 2015 is the brand new time travel movie Project Almanac. Love this genre and was looking forward to this...and halfway thru it was going great guns as a teen and his friends discover his late father's time machine. The buildup to the first couple of trips are great, including a visit to Lollapalooza. BUT when bad things start to happen (plane crashes, fires) because they are changing history, instead of dealing with the kaos their jumps are causing, it becomes mainly... about the main teen fixing his romance. Film really blows it right there as far as I'm concerned and loses all of my goodwill towards it. Project Almanac disappoints, is long in the middle and ultimately unsatisfying. Oh and the entire film is shot in "shaky-cam," as if the actors were shooting everything on their cell phones (which I eventually got used to). But others with us did not - so be aware of that. Better you see something else and fast-forward this at home when it comes out in DVD 2/3rds in.

TLA one-word review: lackluster
