THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

Watched #149 last night, the music mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016), another Andy Samberg/Lonely Island production. Done in documentary form, Samberg is Connor4Real, a white rapper whose new album isn't exactly doing well. Maybe it's time to re-unite with his former white rapper group, The Style Boyz. Popstar is absolutely hilarious, keeping a strong narrative all the way through while deadpan insanity reigns throughout. The cameos are many and deep -... my absolute favorite was Seal. If I kept a log of movies with the most laugh-out-moments from films this year, Popstar would be near the top of the list. I can't say that this is another Spinal Tap, but definitely in the ballpark. Recommended by Irv Slifkin as a movie we'd appreciate - thank you Irv! Recommended for all youse guys too!
