THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

PIXELS (2015)

#121 of the 2015 movie countdown is the woeful Pixels. It takes a decent idea (aliens intercept a 1980s era time capsule with video games of the era and mistake it for a declaration of war, and answer via their depiction of the games) and turns it into a flat, unfunny Adam Sandler vehicle. It's stupidly written, wastes talent like Michele Monohan, and Jane Krakowski, who are given nothing to do, and insults most of the memories of these video game icons (watching Qbert pee himself in fear is just sad). Just ugh. Redbox, I would like my $1.50 plus tax back please.
