NO ESCAPE (2015)

#10 is 2015's No Escape. Owen Wilson, Lake Bell (how's that for an odd action picture combo?) and their kids are in an unnamed Asian country (probably Cambodia) for his new company. And on their first day the prime minister is assassinated and all hell breaks loose. The anonymous rebels have targeted Americans and destroy and kill every Yank in their luxury hotel. They escape (in a VERY hard to watch scene) by jumping from the roof to an adjacent building. And then the c...hase is on. They're both good, the movie is thrilling but it's a little racist to watch this country fall apart while all we care about is the plight of this wrong -place-at-wrong-time white family. Pierce Brosnan shows up as some sort of funky CIA operative who bails them out of trouble a few times. No Escape gets a little repetitious as it moves along but there are plenty of edge-of-seat moments. Just wish they had opened up the story a little more beyond the family's perils.
