MARAUDERS (2016)

The 2016 Movie Countdown is back with the disappointing recent release Marauders. What starts off as a pretty good thriller has Bruce Willis as the head of a bank whose branches are being robbed but certain individuals are being killed and the money stolen is being donated to charity. Christopher Meloni is the special agent that's gotta figure out what the heck is going on. This seems really good halfway thru and Meloni is dynamite. Plus the locales are fresh as this was ...shot in Cincinnati, not NY or LA. But right around the 45 minute mark, the plot absolutely dives into confusion and inanity and soon you're saying to yourself "oh NO this was SO good until now!" Like I said, disappointing. Wills has almost nothing to do here and phones it in again, but this is almost worth seeing just to watch Meloni's electric performance. The screen crackles when he's on it. #95.
