CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

LIFE (2017)

#48 is the lifeless Life. This sci-fi/horror entry mashes up elements of Gravity and (especially) Alien as the first proof of life on Mars is studied on the International Space Station. As is the inevitable case, this micro-organism grows into something the size of a Mazda and knocks off the internationally accented crew one by one. Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal are the Americans terrorized by "Calvin," as he is named. I found Life to be strangely uninvolving as we ba...rely get to know the crew before they have their hands full. And if you don't care about the characters, then you may as well be watching "Friday the 13th in Space" with Jason instead of Calvin killing off generic teenagers in space suits (yes I know that movie has already been done!). A few logic errors further get in the way of enjoying this. Scripted by the writers of Deadpool, but you'd never know it to look at this. Disappointing to say the least.

TLA one-word review: boring
