THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

#19 is a Best Pic nominee for 2014, The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent as the brilliant Alan Turing, who eventually cracks the World War II German Enigma code via an enormous early version of the computer. But Turing is an odd bird, unfriendly, uncomfortable with people and he also happens to be homosexual, which then was a crime in England. This film tells his story well, jumping back and forth in time to show Turing as a young lad and later in life. This is not a feel good movie but Cumberbatch is outstanding in a very good film.
