I SMILE BACK (2015)
We just watched #126 of our 2015 movie countdown, this year's I Smile Back starring comedian Sarah Silverman. But there's nothing funny about this film of a wife and mother fighting addiction. Nothing. Silverman is astonishingly good in this grim tale. She barely keeps up the pretense of being a good wife and mother while she is snorting coke in the car, sleeping with a neighbor, and doing unspeakable things with - well I'm not going to say. She isn't playing a part - Silverman inhabits this role! I Smile Back is nasty, uncomfortable and pulls no punches. I can't imagine ever watching it again but it should be seen once. Recommended.
