THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

I'M GOING TO BE FAMOUS ( 1983)

#48 is the terrible I'm Going to Be Famous (1983), an awful, ridiculous Bad Movie Night candidate that is about the lives of a bunch of actors auditioning for a play. Dick Sargent ("Bewitched") conveys his director character by always wearing a s...weater tied around his neck. Meredith McRae of that acting Mecca "Petticoat Junction" as the glamorous movie star lead doing her first play conveys nothing except way too much hairspray. Greg Mullavey ("Mary Hartman Mary Hartman") is the only one conveying anything in this thing as a parole officer trying to get his big acting break. Written and directed by Paul Leder of "I Dismember Mama" infamy so what did I really expect? (his daughter Mimi went on to direct "Total Impact," just so you know).

Oh and notes game show panelist Robert Q. Lewis plays himself. Name one of the (much better) other movies where he also plays himself and I'll send you a cookie.

TLA one-word review: NOPE!
