THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

FRANK & LOLA  (2016)

#200 will only be memorable for its place on the 2016 countdown. Frank & Lola (2016) is one of the more pointless films watched this year. Frank (Michael Shannon) is a chef plying his trade in Las Vegas and looking for a restaurant to take over. Imogen Poots is Lola, some kind of designer who was much better at being a slut than at any other endeavor. They fall in love. Lola says her stepfather in Paris raped her as a child. Frank flies to Paris for a chef auditio...n and decides to beat the crap out of her stepfather while there. Her "stepfather" (he isn't really) shows him tapes of Lola and another women in bed and...oh my GOD, talk about being bored out of your skull watching pretty people you could care less about doing things that only happen in movies! Frank & Lola is awful and strands two really good lead actors with material than no one could bring to life. It looked gorgeous but felt as long as the 199 movies combined that we watched this year. It's over, thank goodness. The movie, I mean. And the 2016 countdown. Thank you all for reading all year long. Hopefully I have steered you towards some good stuff, and away from some really crappy movies. We start again tomorrow with 1. Happy New Year!
