CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

THE FOREIGNER (2017)

Different look for Jackie Chan as he plays a man who’s been a British citizen for years. His last family member is killed when a  bomb goes off at a bank  that takes her life.  He spends every waking hour trying to find out who the bombers are, calling the police commander handling the case, and calling one Pierce Brosnan, a government official he sees talking about the case on TV.  When he gets through to Brosnan, he feels the guy knows more than he’s saying – and he’s right BTW.  He reverts back to his Special Forces training and makes Pierce’s life miserable.  Lots of carnage, blood, nasty stuff, Jackie deadly serious.  Convoluted plot, joyless story and characters makes The Foreigner a tough slog.  But I do like the change of pace role for Chan.

TLA one word review: convoluted
