THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

THE EYES (2017)

#63 is the new low-budget release The Eyes, in selected markets only. The idea is intriguing - six people wake up at a table with their hands tied behind them, with no recollection of how they got there - plus no one knows anyone else. Eventually a mysterious voice named Charlie warns them that all will become clear in two hours and they'd best get to know each other. Meanwhile masked soldiers armed to the teeth and a pretty woman wheel in...coffee and donuts!! Eventuall...y, the mysterious voice comes out in the flesh (as played by Nicholas Turturro) and says that after two hours all will be dead but one - and that one of them will walk out free and clear. Megan West (This Is Us) as the lawyer among them comes up with all sorts of silly ideas to thwart Charlie. Did I mention that this is some sort of government experiment and that everyone in the room seems horribly guilty of murder? ANYWAY, any film that casts Vincent Pastore, aka Big Pussy of The Sopranos, as a COWBOY has definitely got some chutzpah! Unfortunately, The Eyes makes you want to cover your ears and check your email while this film meanders on. Drab despite an ending that could have redeemed a better movie.
