THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

DON'T BREATHE (2016)

WHAT is all the fuss about #178, Don't Breathe (2016)?? This ugly little tale about three thieves that break into the home of a blind man to steal at least 300K he has hidden in the house somewhere is just OK in the thrills department. But then it goes way overboard into borderline torture porn in the middle of the film and one moment actually made me gag. If you've seen it, you'll know. Steven Lang is the blind man who's an ex-Iraq War veteran who has the upper hand early on over this trio of robbers (two are sympathetic, one is a louse - and the louse is shot dead early on). You'll sometimes think of a deadly serious Home Alone in certain spots. Give me Wait Until Dark anytime - the second half of Don't Breathe is disgusting and vile. I'm no prude but YECCH! Don't Watch!

TLA one-word review: gross
