CAN HE DO IT?

THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

#195 has always been a favorite of mine, 1991's Delirious starring the late John Candy, We lost John very early and who knows what he might have been capable of down the road. In this one, he's a soap opera writer who takes a bop on the head and awakens as a character in his own soap, mistaken for the character "Jack Gates, the Wolf of Wall Street" What's more is, somehow his typewriter can make anyone do what he wants them to do, leading to more than a ...few funny moments. I'm aware that I may be one of a very few who like Delirious but that's OK. Great cast includes Emma Sams, Mariel Hemingway, Dylan Baker, Raymond Burr and an uncredited bit by Robert Wagner as the real Jack Gates, who Candy writes out of the plot every time he shows up (Gates: "I'm going to...Cleveland? I HATE Cleveland!"). There's also Prince with the title song. What's not to love?

TLA one-word review: fun
