DEADPOOL (2016)

#19. Deadpool. Well holy mackerel what an experience that was! Cross a Marvel super-hero with MAD Magazine and whaddya get? This, which starts the laughter going with the goofy opening credits and keeps it going all the way through. This super hero silliness features Ex-Special Forces operative Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) quipping his way through life. He meets an extremely kindred spirit in the person of prostitute Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). She's great and her perfo...rmance matches Reynolds in tone and spirit, very

important or the film just loses its heart. Anyway, one day Wade finds he has cancer real bad. He gets offered a chance to be cured by some mysterious group. He turns it down but then reconsiders, thinking it best for Vanessa. He almost dies but gets regenerative powers at the expensive of a face like road pizza, among other things. Reynolds is really funny when he needs to be and finds actual moments of emotion here and there. This film is filled with Deadpool breaking the fourth wall, a couple of X-Men being ridiculed and LOTS of nasty violence that you may actually find amusing. Closing credits are a scream, a pair of bonus scenes are even funnier and this features the funniest Stan Lee cameo there has ever been. If you are at all into this kind of R-rated superhero treatment (and you know who you are), then get your butt to the theater.

TLA one-work review: hilarious
