THE DARK TOWER (1987)

#113 of 2015 is another bad movie, 1987's Dark Tower. A bunch of Americans, with scant explanation, are building skyscrapers in Barcelona, Spain. We suspect because the movie was backed by Spanish money but who knows. Anyway, one particular chunk of this building seems to be - gasp - HAUNTED!! A window-washer looking through architect Jenny Agutter's window is suddenly hurled to the ground by a mysterious force. An American security consultant is investigating, played by Michael Moriarty, who seems to have been given direction to yell into the camera at every opportunity. Kevin McCarthy plays a psychic who favors berets named Sergie, and Theodore Bikel plays a parapsychologist named Max Gold (maybe there was a Max Gold action figure?) who likes to chat with the evil force. Sergie says, at one point, "I am ready to spit in the eye of death" while the audience does a spit take. Hope everyone had a grand time on their Barcelona vacation!
