# 9 COTTONPICKEN' CHICKENPICKERS (1967)

Bad Movie Night concluded with #9, the awesome Cottonpickin' Chickenpickers (1967), selected by film critics as one of the finest films ever made by humans. Ok maybe not. This Southern drive-in B-movie never played north of the Mason Dixon line and featured singer-songwriter Del Reeves & Hugh X. Lewis as two drifters who hop a freight train they think is going to Hollywood, California. But instead they end up headed for Hollywood, Florida and end up somewhere in rural Florida where they are chased by the po-lice for stealing chickens. The comedy here would make vaudeville acts look brand new, surrounding them with obscure country singers who are even worse actors. Mel Tillis pops up for a pit as a helicopter pilot teamed up with Tommy Noonan. Some of the actors (and country singers trying to act) were so way off that we reasoned many must have been quite sloshed when they tried to get through this scenes. SO unfunny that it was a scream with the right bunch of people! Featuring Sonny Tufts, a bunch of stolen chickens, and Miss Denmark 1952, this film defies logical description.

TLA one-word review: loony
