THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

#194 is the French film The Connection (2014) which basically is the other side of the American film The French Connection. This film shows what Marseilles police did to stop the drug trade in the 70s but instead of Popeye Doyle, our hero here is Pierre Michel (Jean Dujardin, Oscar-winning Best Actor for The Artist). Michel is pulled out of the juvenile crime division and tasked with battling organized crime. This is an excellent police procedural with a solid performance by Dujardin and an equally good performance by Gillies Lelouche as gang head Tany Zampa. Found on Amazon Prime with subtitles.
