THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

THE GOAL FOR 2018: 200 MOVIES WATCHED BY MIDNIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!  (AFTER TOPPING OUT AT 194 in 2017)

CAN HE DO IT?

THE BRONZE (2015)

Screened #29 of the 2016 movie countdown, The Bronze. Melissa Rauch (Bernadette of The Big Bang Theory) cowrites and stars as former Olympic bronze medal gymnast Hope Greggory, who takes her one moment of glory, retreats back to her hometown of Amherst, OH, and proceeds to cash in on that for years, walking around in her USA warmup suit, getting free pasta at Sbarro and cursing out just about everyone she encounters including her single mailman dad (Gary Cole, who's really g...ood here with some serious moments). Think Tonya Harding but nastier and hornier. Then she finds out that her former coach committed suicide - but left a note saying if Hope will coach a local gymnast and make every attempt to qualify her for the Toronto Olympics, she will leave her half a million bucks. After trying at first to sabotage the kid, Hope finally tries to coach her, and they make it to Toronto. But Sebastian Stan as an opposing USA coach has some plans to stick it to Hope really good. The movie is watchable but a little too long, Rauch is a bit of a one-trick pony as Hope but MAN if you want to see this cute little sitcom star curse like a sailor and strip off everything except her sneakers to take part in what must have been the wildest gymnastic sex scene in film history, well there's that.

should TLA see this: only for the amusement factor of seeing Melissa Rauch curse like Bob Saget.
