BOSS BABY (2017)

#64 is the new release Boss Baby. Surely you've seen the trailer with Alec Baldwin as an animated baby wearing a suit with a briefcase and a cell phone (the only Glengarry Glen Ross joke is wasted in the trailer) talking like a corporate suit! Baldwin is very amusing as this baby who's really been selected to work at um, conception for BabyCorp, on a secret mission to find out why puppies are getting more love from humans than babies. Of course his 7-year-old brother Tim discovers his secret and the sibling rivalry that crops up actually hilarious. That is until they start working together because PuppyCorp, where their parents (Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow) are employed, is up to no good. Steve Buscemi voices their CEO, and he's not a happy man. Anyway, Boss Baby loses momentum halfway through and becomes a standard kids' flick. The more plot is heaped on, the less amusing this was to me. But the first half-hour or so is pretty darn good. Toby Maguire narrates as an older version of Tim.

TLA one-word review: awwwwww!
