THE WEBER MOVIE COUNTDOWN

ANDRON

#77 on the 2016 Movie Countdown is the just-released Andron (I never got to the screener til tonight) and this thing is a cross between Hunger Games and Running Man. I don't mean that as a compliment. SEE a bunch of generic young people running through what looks like a futuristic abandoned warehouse not knowing what is going us (just like us in the audience). SEE millions of apparently-bored worldwide citizens watching said generic young people through their eyes in somet...hing called the Redemption Games (at least the ones without cable). SEE Alec Baldwin in the Donald Sutherland part with little to do. SEE Danny Glover get all hysterical as Chancellor Gordon who thinks people may rebel if they find out the games are fixed (they won't - they all fell asleep). SEE darkness and murkiness of all varities as they save the filmmakers scads of money in lighting. SEE the viewers doze off with little chance of anyone seeing anything through their eyes. SEE yours truly advise that you skip Andron in any medium except maybe the one where the scenes are drawn on the bottom of a whole pad of papers, and you flip the pages to see the animation. Maybe that mighta worked. You'll need a LOT of Mike's Hard Black Cherry Lemonades to get through this one! In theaters and On Demand.
