# 8 AMOK TRAIN aka BEYOND THE DOOR III

The first Bad Movie Night of the year and oh were tonight's choices hilariously bad: #8 of '17 was the staggeringly insane Amok Train aka Beyond The Door III (1989). First of all, it has nothing to do with the Exorcist ripoff Beyond the Door. It has a demented plot all its own. This Yugoslavia-Italy production sees a bunch of LA-based students get to go to Yugoslavia to witness a special ceremony. But evil Slavic professor Bo Svenson (!), has plans for one of the girls, a virgin, and tries to do in the rest via sudden flash fires in the huts they're staying in! But most of them escape (luckily they all slept in their hats, coats and boots) and jump on a passing train. Here's where it get wacky: the train itself gets possessed by a satanic force, kills the engineer and conductor and then tries to knock off the rest of the American students while saving the virgin. The train is also able to leave its tracks, plow through the woods and, insanest of all, drive up a river and run over two of the students who escaped!! Chock full of inadvertently hilarious dialogue, ridiculous characters and that nutty choo-choo, Amok Train may take the cake for funniest bad movie in quite a while!!!

TLA one-word review: incomprehensible
