#54 AIR (2015)

We thought #54, 2015's Air, would be a good one. In this one, Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou are two engineers and part of a colony of sleeping people who may be the last humans left. The air is not breathable due to some sort of a nuclear event and all must sleep until it is determined that surface air is breathable again. The two engineers get woken up again and given a short supply of oxygen to do routine maintenance and then they go back to sleep. Sounds like a dece...nt premise, right? Well, guess what? Air is so uninvolving that it's a great movie to check your email while you watch. When an interesting idea is brought up, it's quickly abandoned. Plot points take an eternity to build to and when you get to them, they're hardly worth the wait. Add the fact that Air is shot in almost total darkness for much of its length and some other stupidity that might constitute a "spoiler," and you have a total misfire. Really disappointing.

TLA one-word review (and it's a really good word!): suffocating!
